ESSENTIAL TRAIN SMOKES IN CS2 THAT YOU MUST KNOW IN 2025

Train or De_Train is back now in CS2. Some are happy, some are mad (I’m neither!). It would come in handy to show you some smokes who are essential to know if you play the game, especially if you are active in higher tier platforms such as FACEIT.

Our friend Nart was kind enough to post some amazing tips on how to do those smokes, so we are sharing this video for you to see where to aim and make your enemies mad to not be able to see you. He-he!

After being absent from the initial CS2 launch, de_train has finally made a return, bringing back an iconic and beloved map in Counter-Strike. Originally introduced in CS 1.6, Train has always been a strategic, sniper-heavy map with long sightlines, tight choke points, and a deep tactical meta. But, now in CS2 it has less spaces and “less” opportunities.

What’s New in CS2’s de_train?

With the transition to CS2’s Source 2 engine, Train has received a visual and gameplay overhaul:
Enhanced lighting and reflections – Improved visibility and realistic lighting.
New smoke physics – Responsive to bullets and HE grenades, changing how smokes work.
Updated textures and details – The map now has a fresh look while keeping its classic layout.
Potential layout tweaks? – While not officially confirmed, Valve may have adjusted certain angles and movement flow.

Why is Train So Special?

🔹 AWPer’s Paradise – Long sightlines make snipers incredibly powerful.
🔹 High-skill ceiling – Strategic team play, fast rotations, and complex executions are key.
🔹 Classic Clutch Moments – The map has been home to legendary plays in CS history.
